De eerste slagbeurt van de wedstrijd liet W.H.S.C. onbenut. Wel wist Glenn een mooie honkslag te slaan, maar sneuvelde op het derde honk door een aangooi van de catcher. Caribe opende de wedstrijd sterker. De eerste slagman wist de bal gelijk in het buitenveld te slaan en bereikte zo het tweede honk. Ian werd hierdoor wakkergeschud en zette – net als vorige week – zijn drie slag machine aan. Met twee keer drie slag en een een actie 1-3 haalde hij W.H.S.C. uit de inning. Tijd voor antwoord…<\/p>\n

$\"\"$ <\/a>Maar ook de tweede inning verliep in die zin wat moeizaam. Twee W.H.S.C.-ers vertrokken met drie slag aan de kont terug naar de bank. Fleur sloeg een mooie honkslag, maar helaas liepen er geen punten binnen.\u00a0 Caribe opende wederom met een twee honkslag, maar W.H.S.C. had een zeer mooi antwoord. De loper die thuis poogde te halen werd vlak voor de plaat uitgemaakt door catcher Eva. Ian gooit wederom een mooie drie slag waarop eva de volgende slagman – die een honkslag sloeg – afstrafte door hem uit te gooien op het eerste honk! Wat een mooie acties zo vroeg al in de wedstrijd, super hoor!<\/p>\n

Hier kwam dan het antwoord van onze dieseltjes. Maar liefst twaalf Winschoters wisten de honken te bereiken. Met een mooie honkslag van Sebastian werden de eerste twee punten aan onze zijde binnen geslagen. Tess ging hier overheen met een verre twee honkslag. De Groninger pitcher was het eventjes kwijt na dit geweld en gooide diverse keren vier wijd. Fleur kreeg een mooie bal en ook zij sloeg deze het buitenveld in, goed voor een twee honkslag en twee punten. Glenn tikte Fleur binnen met een honkslag en Sebastian deed er vervolgens nog een schepje bovenop – met zijn tweede honkslag deze inning – BAM! een twee honkslag!! In totaal liepen er deze inning negen punten binnen. Tussen de honkslagen door was W.H.S.C. fel en snel op honken wat mede heeft bijgedragen aan dit puntenaantal.<\/p>\n

$\"\"$ <\/a>De derde slagbeurt voor Caribe en de Vierde voor W.H.S.C. bevatten weinig actie. Hier werd goed werk geleverd door de pitchers. Ian opende met twee keer drie slag en raakt helaas de derde slagman. Ian liet er alleen geen gras over groeien, want wanneer de loper zijn honk iets te ver verlaat besluit hij een strakke bal naar Tess op het eerste honk te gooien. De bal ging zo snel dat de loper hem volledig over het hoofd zag. Ongeroerd wordt de man uitgetikt en mag W.H.S.C. zich opmaken voor haar laatste slagbeurt. Ondanks een honkslag van Fleur en Eva bleef het bij een korte slagbeurt zonder punten. Tussenstand: 1-9.<\/p>\n

Caribe moest nu wel met een heel goed antwoord komen moest deze wedstrijd nog de verkeerde kant op vallen. Maar goed je weet het nooit, het blijft tenslotte honkbal. Er volgden deze gelijkmakende slagbeurt drie honkslagen waarop W.H.S.C. geen antwoord op had. Ian perste er nog wel twee keer drie slag uit, maar moest wegens zijn pitchcount de heuvel verlaten met – jawel – acht (!) keer drie slag op zak! Glenn neemt het stokje over en dit deed hij goed. Hij kreeg \u00e9\u00e9n verre tik om zijn oren, maar kon rekenen op zijn teamgenoten zo bleek. Rechtsvelder Darwin fielde de bal en zag in zijn ooghoek de loper een poging doen om het thuishonk te halen. Met een prachtige ‘Crow Hop’ speerde hij de bal naar thuis, met slechts \u00e9\u00e9n stuitje belande de bal perfect in Eva haar handschoen. PATS, UIT!! en tevens einde wedstrijd. Eindstand: 3-9.<\/p>\n
